ASQ Review:
TwoThree a homely Hotel, Sukhumvit 23
My 3rd COVID PCR test came out negative today and I will be checking out on Monday. Hoorayyy!
So I would like to share my ASQ experience at TwoThree a homely Hotel.
I am Thai. I travelled from Nairobi with my 5 Year Old daughter, departed on 16th and arrived on 17th Jan. We had taken the PCR test in Nairobi on 13 Jan so it was more than 72 hours when we arrived so we had to have another test on arrival at the hotel (Free of Charge for Thais – maybe).
Room Type: Executive Suite
Child cost: 30,000 Bht.
Pros:
The suite comes with bedroom and separate living area, 43” Smart TV for bedroom and living room, small pantry with sink, dining table with 2 chairs and a microwave. Bathroom is with shower and rain shower only, no bathtub. We are so happy with room space and layout as my daughter can have her own toys corner plus a work station for her Zoom classes. Daybeds and sofa with cushions and pillows are not covered with plastic.
Plates, bowls, mugs and glasses are provided. I brought 2 sets of cutlery with me so I don’t have to use plastic ones and the hotel has dish washing liquid and a sponge ready.
Minibar with snacks, instant noodle, soda drink, juice, instant coffee, Milo and UHT milk are provided on arrival day. Bottled water is provided and can be refilled anytime without additional cost.
Clothes (top and pants) are provided so I don’t have to be worried about laundry. My daughter wears their smallest size top as her dress. Anyway, Laundry detergent liquid and a small plastic basin are given so you can wash your personal clothes. If I am not wrong, the hotel has a cheaper package without this option.
Internet is fine with Zoom classes and Netflix (I brought HDMI cable with me).
The hotel doesn’t have their own kitchen. So the food is provided by restaurants nearby, Thai, Western, Indian and Japanese. For me, I am satisfied with this. The Thai restaurant is a famous one and used to be my usual place when I worked in this area 6 years ago. The hotel has listed some menu from each restaurant for you to choose daily. I sometimes just order outside their lists by going to the restaurant’s online menu and order what I want to eat. If it is over the hotel’s budget I just pay extra cost, so far I haven’t been charged any as the hotel suggested to cut snack/fruits that served with every meal instead. Which is fine for me. Portion is more than enough. And two thumbs up for both hotel and restaurants staff, my food always arrived on time and correct no matter how I customise it. I am so impressed with this really.
You can order 7-11 everyday from day 0 at no charge. I downloaded 7-11 application, searched and sent pictures to the front office. They will order for me and I paid them by bank transfer. There is actually schedule when you can order and when the stuff will be sent to your room but I always received my order within 10-30 minutes after I ordered.
Hotel staff is very friendly, polite, helpful and attentive to your requests right away. Everything from booking, picking up, checking in, and during my stay were so impressed. I want to give them 10/10 scores for this.
I am not sure about amendments and cancellation policy as I booked the hotel very last minute, booked on 13th Jan for checking on the 17th. So I have to make payment in full. The hotel responded very fast so I had the confirmation for COE in time.
Cons:
They are a small boutique hotel and their building is low rise. So there is no view and their relax area is small.
The room doesn’t have balcony or windows. It will be a NO for those who needs fresh air and sunlight. For me, I am not regret about this because since I arrived the PM 2.5 index has been reported high and unhealthy for small kid.
Cleaning service is done only one time for the whole stay after your COVID negative result (day 5). Staying with a small kid who eats all day, so I asked for a bloom and dust pan to clean up by myself.
No laundry service for your personal garments.
You may need to contact the hotel in advance for special dietary and food. I don’t see many healthy menu and/or vegetarian dishes on their lists.
